Below is part of a series of kids room makeovers that Kids Haven has done in partnership with Groom my Room. It showcases kids taking charge of their own stories and their own rooms, within a budget and a timeline, with the help of a lively host, professionals, and their own family and friends. Blasting targets, laser tags, these just sounds super action-packed fun! Today, we are reaching out to a 10 year old, Ignaz, who enjoys blasting games and needed help with his room.
According to Ignaz’s mummy, he is a hoarder, just like her and never throws a thing, therefore, he has a room packed with stuffs. In order to have his dream themed room, he will need to make some tough throw or keep decisions!
With the host, Charmain’s help, Ignaz met Carmen, the Interior Designer to help him with his room grooming. During the discussion, Ignaz shared that he wanted to revamp his room into a blast arena where he can have fun with this friends. After confirming the room design and with the $1500 budget credited, the secret mission begins!
First stop, the furniture store, where Ignaz managed to find a bed with pull out, a study desk and a chair. Second stop is to get decorative / DIY items. When the fun shopping is over, it is time to head back and get cracking!
Ignaz and the room groomers spent 4 hours to get his rooms cleared out, before they can start painting the walls. Ignaz also made tough decision on what are things to keep and what to throw. While the room groomers get busy with the painting, Ignaz used his first lifeline, his brother, to do a weapon crate!
Finally, the furniture arrived! Ignaz made himself useful by helping with the bed assembling, not just a leader but also a team player! After having the furniture up, Ignaz got the wall muralist to help paint a gate on one of the walls.
When most of the things were done, Carmen came with a surprise! She got Ignaz a container cabinet for him to keep his stuffs! While Carmen helps with tying loose ends in the room, Ignaz proceeded to do his second DIY project, using his second lifeline which is his best friend. The project is to create target boards.
When Ignaz went to check out on Carmen, Carmen has more surprises; some cool cushions that really add on the feels to the theme! After the last touch up, Ignaz was so ready to show off his revamped room!
Ignaz’s room took a 180 degree turn change, from foul to fierce!
Ignaz’s mummy is really proud of him and glad he get a room he wants. Ignaz also shared that he learnt a lot through this journey, he promised to take good care of his room and even thank the team for all the help. You are very welcome Ignaz, hope you have fun with your blast arena!
