It showcases kids taking charge of their own stories and their own rooms, within a budget and a timeline, with the help of a lively host, professionals, and their own family and friends. Have you ever wanted to walk up to stage to a standing ovation and become an overnight sensation? Meet 10-year-old Cadence, a bubbly girl who is a multi-talented performer. She simply loves the stage!
She feels her room needs to match her personalities. She is looking to revamp her room to a combination of theatre theme with a blend of her love for food, so she can be the star of her own theatre café!
Charmian introduced an interior designer, Jennifer who will be helping Cadence with her room grooming. More details and ideas were shared when they met, and from there, Jennifer came out with a design plan for Cadence’s room. With Cadence nodding head to the design, Charmian then got the Groom My Room tee, fun phone, and $1500 budget ready to kick start the show!
They started off with getting the furniture at Kids Haven. They managed to get the perfect bed, ceiling light and some decoration items at the furniture store. Follow by getting some DIY materials from Art Friends.
Back to Cadence’s room, she got help from the room groomers to clear the room and painted the walls. After the painting, Cadence went to work on her first DIY project with her first lifeline. Near to completing the project, the furniture arrived. Therefore, Cadence left Charmian and her lifeline to finish up the work, while she and the room groomers headed to help with the furniture assembling.
After getting done with the furniture, Cadence met up with the wall muralist to discuss on the murals for her room. The room groomers then helped to install the ceiling lights and moved in the mattresses. Meanwhile, Charmain came and reminded Cadence on her second DIY project. Cadence got her second lifeline to help with this project.
Charmain and Jennifer surprised Cadence with a drop lift table as Cadence was not able to find a study table that she likes during her trip at Kids Haven. After fitting the table, it is time for the final reveal!
From bleak bedroom into a swinging theatre-themed café!
Cadence and her Groom My Room troupe have proven that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. It's showtime!
