Indoor Playground
Below is part of a series of kids room makeovers that Kids Haven has done in partnership with Groom my Room. It showcases kids taking charge of their own stories and their own rooms, within a budget and a timeline, with the help of a lively host, professionals, and their own family and friends. Whether you are a kid or kid at heart, I’m sure we all have days where we want to play all day without any worries or care about the world. Meet Shriya, a fun loving who wants to give her room an epic makeover!
Shriya know exactly what she wants and do, however she still need some guidance, therefore, the host, Charmian introduced her to Jillien, the interior Designer. Shriya shared that she had outgrown the design of her room and nothing in the room is to her likings. She prefers candy colours and a playground theme. Based on Shriya’s ideas, Jillien came up with a plan for the room to execute!
Once the room plan was approved, Groom my Room T-shirt and fun phone were then handed over to Shriya, budget credited, Charmian and Shriya were all set to go shopping! At Kids Haven, Shriya found her bed and study table. After getting the paints needed, they headed home to start the room grooming!
Together with the room groomers , they cleared and painted the room. After the painting was done, Shriya went to discuss the wall mural design with the muralist, so he could start working on the artwork.
Next, Shriya went to start on her first DIY project, which was to revamp her bookshelf with her dad, who was her first life line. The furniture arrived while they are in the midst of the DIY, so Shriya had to leave the remaining job to her dad and Charmian, while she headed to help out with the furniture assembling.
When Shriya and Jillien were checking on the progress, Jillien felt something was missing, so she got the room groomer’s assistance to improve on the playground elements. To race against the time, Shriya went to get her second DIY done, with her last life line's help, which is her sister, Aarna.
With the second DIY project almost done, Shriya went back to the room to check on Jillien with the progress. And that was when Jillien surprised Shriya with a pinky cushion seat! With Charmain’s reminder, everyone rushed to finish up the last bit of tidying up.
Finally, time’s up and it’s time for the reveal!
Shriya’s playground themed bedroom was a success with both parents very proud of her achievements and of cause, having Shriya being satisfied with the outcome and the experiences gained through this room grooming project.
